MELBORNE: Unseeded Aisam and his partner are now pitted against top seed Croatian pair of Mate Pavic & Nikola Mektic, ranked 4th and 8th, respectively, in the round of 16, which is slated to be held tomorrow (3rd February).
World no.50 in doubles ranking, Aisam alongside his partner Bosnia-Herzegovina’s 80th ranked player Tomislav Brkic has started the Australian Open 2021 campaign with a win in the round of 32.
The key members of the Pakistan Davis Cup team, Aqeel Khan are accompanying Aisam ul Haq Qureshi as a hitting partner for the Australian Open, which is being played in Melbourne.
Aisam & Tomislav played attacking games and did not let Italian pair of Marco Cecchinato & Lorenzo Sonego to strike back and held their command over the match.
