Chinese UN envoy calls for global efforts to fight COVID-19
NEW YORK: China has called for global efforts to fight COVID-19 through cessation of hostilities, removal of unilateral sanctions and promotion of peace through development.
China's Deputy Permanent Representative to United Nations, Geng Shuang called-on all parties to fully implement Resolution 2532 to achieve a global cease-fire and step up efforts to fight the pandemic.
Geng said to mitigate pandemic's impact on fragile countries, World Health Organization should be encouraged to play a leading role in fight against COVID-19.
