Hospitals in southern Gaza are at breaking point: Red Cross

GAZA: The International Committee of the Red Cross has warned that hospitals in southern Gaza are at “breaking point”, Al Jazeera reports.

An influx of Palestinians wounded by Israel’s bombardment has led to overcrowded waiting rooms and patients being treated on the floor. The organisation says doctors could soon be forced to make “difficult choices” on who gets treated.

The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) says that only 10 of its 26 health centres in Gaza are operational.

The Israeli military has bombed a home in the Block C area of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza, killing at least five people, including children, Al Jazeera reports according to local media.

At least 15 more people have also been wounded in the strike on the house, which reportedly belonged to the Abu Shakyan family.
