KARACHI: The 5th National Cycling Road Race Championship organized by Pakistan Cycling Federation will be held in Karachi from November 12 to 15.
According to PCF President Syed Azhar Ali Shah, preparations for the championship are in full swing. Men and women from Sui Southern Gas Company, POF Wah, Karachi, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Bikestan Crank Addicts and Islamabad will participate in the championship.
The championship has four categories, individual time trial, team event, scratch race and point race.
The championship will be played in accordance with law of Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and PCF. Ali Ilyas of Bikestan will defend the title of the individual event while Sui Southern Gas Company will defend the title of the team event.
There will be a meeting of the team managers participating in the championship on November 11. The closing ceremony of the championship will be held on November 15 in which prizes will be distributed among the winners.
It must be noted that during the championship, a meeting of the General Council of the PCF will be chaired by Syed Azhar, in which Secretary-General Nisar Ahmad will present a report on the performance of the last year. The meeting will also prepare a plan of action for future activities on the recommendations of the Legal Adviser.
